For the past 2 years, I wanted to give out handmade Christmas cards to friends and family. Problem was, digital photo cards were so much easier and cuter because I got to play around with Photoshop. So, it's not really a lack of creativity on my part.
This is our Holiday '07 card which I did a little cheating and cased from somewhere, forgot where..
Not too bad for a beginner, huh? Sure, it took me 3 whole hours to figure out what the heck layers were, but in the end, it was a fun learning experience.
I think this year I will still make the digital cards (how can I not with such a cute kid to grace it?) and stick it inside a handmade. Knowing how busy things can get in the mad holiday rush, I started early. Here are some I made over the past month.
These were 3x3 and so fun to make. I used the largest Spellbinders Megablilities to create the scalloped card. I even tried my hand at sponging for the blue sky!
I got my Cuttlebug Swiss dot embossing folder not too long ago and they were just a great investment at $3.49 from Joanns. Really like the ease of use and how much it adds to the canvas!
For some reason, I was not happy with this card and decided to rework it from a different point of view.
Much better, don't you think? This is one of my faves!
And then this card is a layout I've come across often and finally decided to try.
That's all for now!
i like the before and after! such a difference! i think i like the 2nd with the penguin the best :)
