I'm all about sparkle + shine these days, so that's sort of the theme for today!

First card I created features Map of America CG527 and Tweed Pattern S5654 stamps. The Map of America CG527 stamp is a full size rubber cling stamp, it is large enough to cover a standard size card front. I first stamp the pattern onto white card stock. I trimmed it down just a tad for layering purposes and then set it aside I then stamped the map image onto another layer. Then I trimmed down a sheet of clear acetate and sewed it directly on top of the map image. Before sewing the last side shut, I threw some sequins in. Now it's a shaker card!

Finally, I stamped the sentiment from Essential Messages CL371 separately, trimmed and layered and adhered on top of the acetate layer with some Scor-Tape. It's really much easier than it looks.

The Tweed Pattern S5654 stamp really gives it that vintage air mail look, I think they complement each other nicely.

Here's another card featuring the Tweed Pattern S5654 stamp. I stamped it on white card stock, trimmed it to size and colored in selective areas. To adhere to the sparkle + shine theme, I used my glitter pen and added some shine. It's so neat looking in person! The sentiment is from the Birthday Messages stamp set.

Last but not least, here's a very clean and simple card using the Winter Scene K5524 stamp and sentiment from It's Your Day CL661. I had previously left it without the black strip and sentiment-less, because well, the image is just that beautiful that it can stand alone by itself! Anyway, after further thought, I added the extra elements. I wanted to mimic the look of a cold winter at dusk.

To create the subtle sky, I masked off the hills and lightly swiped some blue Distress ink in an upward motion. The final step was adding some sparkle. I grabbed my glitter pens - silver and gold and accented the trees just a bit.

That's all from me today! If you find a broken link, you'll find a master list of the hop links at the Hero Club Blog. Also, please report broken links to Tami.

Thanks for stopping by and good luck! Your next stop on the Hero Arts Hostess Blog Hop is my insanely talented friend Jenn Biederman!
