Engagement gift for my best friend...

So as I alluded to in my last post, I've been very busy. I seem to say that a lot, huh. Yeah, okay you got me, sometimes I just say it as an excuse for being lazy and neglecting my blog hahah, butttttttttttt I'm foreals this time! This post will be proof! :)

One of my best friends recently got engaged, so you know I had a big surprise up my sleeve! I purchased this super comfy sleeping mask to help with my sneakiness:

It is sooo comfy but also soooooo blah and boring! I didn't know what to put on it so I just spelled out with some of those fabulous foam Thickers what I was doing the whole time while I was plotting this super secret sneaky mission, hee hee!

I gave it to her just as we got in the car and started heading to dinner. I was laughing my ass off when she opened the box and started whining: "NoooOoo, I don't want to be blindfoldeddddd!" I made her put it on and she fell asleep, lol!

PTI lovers, you know all those clear boxes that come with your stamps, sometimes I save them and I'm glad I did! The mask did not come with a box and I wanted to present it nicely... so, I repurposed the PTI boxes that otherwise was heading straight for the can!

First, found some old kraft wrapping paper, cut it down to size and adhered some MM mini alphas. From grade school all the way to high school, we had to wrap our text books. I usually used the back of calendars or large brown paper bags. Those book wrapping skills came in handy!

Argh, those tape marks. So unsightly!

Ta da! Washi tape to the rescueeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

My real gift to her was this 7 Gypsies Letterblock tray...

He proposed to her on a road trip to Newport, RI. I printed b&w pictures from their trip and asked him to email me their proposal story. When I put this collage together, I made sure to include all the key info that I felt would preserve the memory of their trip and be representative of who they are. Like, their room key number, a photo of their hotel that I managed to find online and all important locations during their trip. And because they both love to ride, I included metal gears and a bike... and tied it all together with random rhinestones here and there to symbolize diamonds!

I also printed the proposal story on the back side.

I loved the results so much I displayed it on my shelf for 2 days before gifting it to her, lol! :)
