Hi all, I am auto-posting this because my weekend is just hectic with one of my best friend's wedding Sunday and I'll be busy today as well with my first Parent/Teacher Meeting. How exciting! I've always dreaded those meetings when I was a kid. I was always a good, well-behaved kid in school with excellent grades, but for some reason, these meetings never meant good news for me! My teachers always end up saying the same thing, how I was too shy, I don't participate, yadda, yadda, yadda... what does it matter? I am still getting all 95's and above on my scores! So, I hated these meetings cause my mom would always be angry with me afterwards like I did something terribly wrong. Go figure! But now that it's my turn, I am so looking forward to it and I will not be like my mother and only listen to the negative parts. I will continue to encourage her, help her, and be proud of her no matter what!
So, did somebody say "giveaway"? Yes! We are doing a giveaway right here! One lucky person will receive Tracy's new Petal Press line of stamp set called Happy Harvest. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post. Let's make it a little interesting, tell me if you enjoyed parent/teacher meetings as a kid.
Here's a card I made with the stamp set.
This was super simple to piece together. If you look closely, I applied liquid glass (CTMH) on the hurricane, gives it that realistic glassy look. Patterned paper and the birdie die cut is by My Mind's Eye, from the Bloom and Grow collection available via i {heart} papers store.
Wow, what a unique way to use this!
ReplyDeleteThrowing my name into the giveaway. And absolutely yes, I loved parent teacher conferences. They only have fabulous things to say about me, lol.
ReplyDeleteI didn't enjoy those meetings. And my mom was president of the PTA, so it would have been nice for her if I had excelled but I was more an average student who thought school was all about social activities.
ReplyDeleteLove the card...and no, I didn't enjoy parent teacher conferences....despite stellar grades, I was much like you, and always seemed to do something "wrong"!
ReplyDeleteneat idea :)!

ReplyDeleteooh I like that Happy Harvest set. Anyway - parent teacher conferences? Generally yes, I think that I liked them....but....only after the fact!!! I always used to get too nervous that they would pick up on some problem or issue that I never knew I had!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI didn't really mind parent teacher conferences. I waslike you, but didn't mind too much them telling my parents I was shy.

ReplyDeleteNo remembrances of my own PTC's....
But my girls were always so different.
they both always did well...one was shy and the other the opposite!!
Have a great day.....
Beautiful card!! When I was a kid I was very shy and always got great grades too!! My parents knew me very well, so whatever the teachers said didn't matter much, LOL, in addition I went to a Catholic school with tons of nuns (one made my life really miserable). Anyway, now I homeschool my child, so I enjoy her reports from Church Sunday School, she is great!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win.
God bless
Giovana
Wow......beautiful card...the colours are awesome and so vibrant.... love it.
ReplyDeleteGreat colors and design! Blessings to you!
ReplyDeleteThis is very pretty, love the right colors. I always heard the same thing too, I was too shy and too reluctant to join the group. It's great for your little girl that you have such a positive attitude!
